When setting up an escrow, the following data is processed:

• identification data: name, company name, identification number (SIREN/SIRET or identity document), legal representative;
• contact details: postal address, email, phone;
• banking data: the parties' bank details (RIB, IBAN, BIC), required to receive and release the funds;
• transaction data: amount held in escrow, nature of the transaction, supporting documents provided;
• account data: login credentials for the secure area (email and encrypted password).

• setting up and managing the escrow matter, performing the agreement and releasing the funds — legal basis: performance of the contract;
• compliance with the lawyer's legal obligations, in particular regarding anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing (AML/CFT) and fund handling through the CARPA — legal basis: legal obligation;
• managing the relationship and exchanges with the parties — legal basis: legitimate interest.

The data is accessible only to authorised persons:

• Maître Martin Estanove and, where applicable, the firm's staff;
• the CARPA, for the control and execution of fund handling;
• the other parties to the same matter, for the information strictly necessary to the transaction;
• the strictly necessary technical providers: the email delivery service, acting as a processor.

No data is transferred or sold to third parties for commercial purposes.

Hosting and processing are carried out, as far as possible, within the European Union. Where a processor may process data outside the EU, that transfer is governed by appropriate safeguards (the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).

The matter data is kept for the duration of the escrow, then archived for the period necessary to comply with the lawyer's legal and ethical obligations and the applicable limitation periods. The login data for the secure area is kept for as long as the account exists.

All information is covered by the lawyer's professional secrecy. Passwords are stored in encrypted form, data is ring-fenced per matter, and access to the secure area is protected by authentication.

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. These rights are exercised, subject to the lawyer's own legal retention obligations, by writing to martin.estanove@meavocat.com.

You may also lodge a complaint with the French data-protection authority (CNIL, www.cnil.fr).

The website stores no advertising or analytics cookie. Only a strictly necessary cookie for keeping the login session in the secure area is used.
